About AC3R

The Amsterdam Center of Excellence in Risk, Resilience and Regulation (AC3R) is a new interdisciplinary collaboration between the Amsterdam School of Economics (ASE), the Amsterdam Business School (ABS), the Amsterdam Law School (ALS) and prominent societal partners. AC3R consolidates and significantly elevates existing collaborations between scholars from the three schools and strengthens active collaboration with external parties. AC3R was formally established on January 1, 2025.

Twenty-first century global crises – whether financial-economic, environmental, technological or epidemiological – call for a convergence and integration of approaches and methodologies to develop a better understanding of and response to the modern threats to society.

AC3R conducts innovative, world-class research on three interrelated themes: (i) twenty-first century risks; (ii) socio-economic and financial resilience; and (iii) economic and financial regulation. In collaboration with its leading partners, it spurs groundbreaking research and practical insights that enhance financial resilience, and fosters close ties between academic research and risk and resilience practice.
